Call 0413 477 667 Book hot-water repairA complete loss of hot water and a system that heats but cannot keep up are different service requests. We establish which outlets are affected, whether the change is constant or intermittent, and the type of equipment serving the property. This helps focus the assessment on the unit and supply rather than replacing parts on the basis of one symptom.
We check where the temperature or flow changes and inspect any visible leaking connections. A problem at one tap may differ from a fault affecting the whole property. Tell us whether the issue occurs at one outlet or several, and keep clear of water near electrical equipment.
If the fault involves both water connections and electrical components, we coordinate the relevant licensed trades for the agreed work. Tell us where the unit is and any model details you can read safely; you do not need to diagnose it. Our guide to hot-water plumbing and electrical faults explains how the work can differ.

Our visit starts with the reported loss of service, the equipment location and safe access to the installation. We inspect the relevant connections and investigate the reported fault. Before repair work, we explain the findings, the proposed parts or connection work, and any access or additional trade requirements that affect the scope.
We consider the system condition, suitable parts and connection requirements before recommending repair or replacement. A larger unit will not suit every location or supply arrangement. We explain the options and any installation changes before you approve the quote.
For an approved repair or replacement, we carry out the agreed connection work and relevant checks, then explain the result and any remaining concerns. If water appears to be coming from another pipe or fitting, our water leak investigation service can assess that source separately.
We compare the condition of the existing system and possible repairs with the proposed replacement and its installation requirements. Loss of hot water alone does not mean a new system is needed.
For a replacement, the quote confirms product supply, old unit removal, plumbing connections, fixed electrical work and relevant checks. Any access changes or surface restoration are listed separately. The existing price guide covers standard packages; the full quote depends on the system and property.
State the system type if safely known. Gas, heat-pump, refrigeration and manufacturer-specific tasks still need the relevant capability confirmed; this comparison does not expand the accepted specialist service range.
Loss of hot water can involve heating, controls, the water supply or plumbing. If other taps have hot water but the shower does not, the problem may be at the shower fitting or mixer. Tell us which outlets are affected; the cause still needs assessment. Do not open the unit or repeatedly reset protection to investigate.
An electric hot-water system and its associated installation can also be involved in safety-switch trips. The timing helps the electrician assess the fault; it does not identify the failed part. The relevant plumbing and electrical tasks follow the findings. Gas, heat-pump and manufacturer-specific work require the relevant specialist capability to be confirmed.
